Hi all

I'm a bit of a noob so please bare with me.

I've got a project to do that involves creating a reporting system. I'd like to create a menu thats controlled by permissions, so I can control which user sees what. I'd also like to have a drop down list, as each user has different companies. So the user would select the company name first from the dropdown list then select the report type from the menu and then they'd be redirected the appropriate report page. That report page then would pick up the report type and company name and generate a list of relevant reports. Can I use a gridview to create the menu? Is there an alternative way to create the menu using the proper menu controls?

My idea was to have two tables:

MENUITEM (Table to hold each link)
MenuItemId
Name
Url

CLIENTMENU (Table to control user access to links)

ClientMenuId
UserId
MenuItemId
Hidden
