Hi,
I want to emulate the action that happens when the user presses a button in my javascript function.
I tried __doPostBack('btn','') and __doPostBack('<# =btn.ClientID', '') but they did not work. Reading futher I believe this is because <asp:button id="btn" runat="server"> is rendered as <input type="submit" name="ctrl$...$btn" value="ctrl$...$btn" />.
So how do I emulate this in javascript?
As a secondary question, how does ASP.net dispatch the button clicks and other events to various handlers?
