Currently I have an Array string that I use to sort a lot of controls on a aspx page.
The string is built on page load, its a per page load string, as page info changes all the time
The string looks like this
ID_564_444_44_44565_4455_89.
I save this string line to an array list for sorting and manipulating. I currently save this arraylist in ViewState Cleint side. And it can be huge KB. The issue is that the number of IDs can be anything from 1 to 250 records in the array list.
I think I should store this data in a varhcar(max) field as one very long string with a # to show line breaks.But this requires parsing the string up and down the SQL save process.
Should I save it as a session varible or maybe server side viewstate ?
What would you do ?
My bias is SQL server and just do the parsing of the string!!!
