Setup: My client has a deployment network that is publicly available and an internal network that is private. The public facing sites contain forms that contain sensitive data that is submitted a SharePoint list on the public side. That SharePoint list is swept every 5 minutes and the submitted data is processed internally on the private side.
Problem: This data is sensitive so must be encrypted when stored on the SharePoint list. Ultimately, the decryption would only be allowed to take place on the private side via a private key. I was going to implement RSA encryption with public/private keys where the public key is stored on the public side and used to encrypt the data put in the SharePoint list and the private key is used internally to decrypt it for processing. However, the security team told me that RSA is not FIPS 140-2 compliant and so I can't use it. So now, I need to find a .net 3.5 framework available cryptogra ...
