The Active Directory Membership Provider has not been initialized.

I am working on forms authetication using Active Directory in a MVC project. When I try to ValidateUser through MembershipProvider its working fine but if I use ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider its failing with the error "The Active Directory Membership Provider has not been initialized.". Please can someone help me with this. Thanks.
