Hi,

Although I am an experienced developer (Win32), I am still pretty new to ASP.NET.

My problem is the following, when I create a new user I check in the database in the aspnet.Users table, and the GUID generated is 5C035E62-CA53-495C-BBC8-C9D964C1F974. Now I want to link comments to the GUID of the user, so on my website I persist the comment and use Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey.ToString() to get the currently logged in user. Everything is fine except the GUID returned is never the same as the one in the aspnet_Users table. So I can never retrieve the comments...

In a nutshell:

1) aspnet_Users table contains GUID 5C035E62-CA53-495C-BBC8-C9D964C1F974 for user "test"

2) Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey.ToString() returns GUID 93F233C3-F278-4311-BA26-9FDFB0D54968 when user "test" is logged in.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Steve
