I am creting a FormsAuthenticationTicket when the user logs into to my site and assigning it a path other than "/" and an expiration time of 30 mins. We have some users experiencing an issue whereby when the ticket expires they are redirected to the login page and upon providing the correct credentials they are taken back to the login page again. This results in an enless loop and can only be resolved by closing the browser. After doing some debugging it appears that the property HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated is not being set to true once the new FormsAuthenticationTicket is created and assigned to the cookie during the login process.
The other issue I have been experiencing infrequently is that when I  logoff of my site I call the FormsAuthentication.SignOut() method and it appears not to be setting HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated to false.
Can anyone provide any solutions or work arounds to these issues please? ...
