I am new to ASP.NET and am attempting a small membership site as a way of learning.
One thing I am totally confused by is the connection string in the web.config file. As it stands in my app at the moment, my web.config file doesn't seem to have any connection string (even though I have an ASPNETDB.MDF file in App_Data) with a few records. I'm of course assuming that there would be one to be able to connect to the SQLExpress DB.
So:
1. If I have a SQL Server DB on my DB server called mem_test, what would be a good connection string to use. I have checked connectionstrings.com, but am confused as which is the one I should be using.
2. Where exactly would I insert the connection string in the web.config file?
3. Is there any other items that should be included in the web.config file as a bare minimum.
Thanks for bearing with me EmbarassedGo to the complete details ...
