Would IIS SMTP Virtual Server enough to just send out (and not receiving) email ?

I just need my ASP.Net to send out email for notification purpose only and there is no need to receive or even document/track/store my outgoing emails. Would IIS SMTP Virtual Server enough to just send out (and not receiving) emails, or, I still need a real mail server ?
Pls advise. Thanks
