trouble: NotSupportedException when calling Membership.GetUser() in a win forms application

 
Dim s As MembershipUser = Membership.GetUser()

this line rsults NotSupportedException when I try to to access it from a win-forms application (I'm using a web-service and a sql database to indentify users).

is there any solution or alternative?
