Running asp.net web site locally, How?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me how to run an asp.net web site locally, not through  the VS web server.

In old asp, I just set up a virtual directory in IIS and then went tto http://localhost/mysitename/index.asp but that doesn't seem to work in asp.net.

I'm using win xp and IIS5.1, if that matters.
