Hi everyone.

We're in a middle of building an asp.net site, which will have a bit of video/audio to play. One thing we're trying to decide right now is the format of the videos. And the real decision altering question is regarding the .flv format. I noticed that on sites like youtube, where they play flv files, you don't have to wait for the entire file to upload in order to see the ending. What is this technology they are using? Can this be done with avi wmv files as well? Or can only be done with flash files?

Also, with this technology, is it possible to play only parts of video? For example, I upload a 2 hour video file. But I have a time table by which the video could be split. Is it possible to show a user only part 6 of the video?

 Thanks,

Viktor.
