I?ve deployed my website that uses asp.net membership to authenticate users and I cannot log in. Using the live site, pointing to the live DB server I am unable to log in, getting failed logins. I know the DB connection is working fine, as unsuccessful logins are recorded in the same DB in a separate table using a SP I wrote.
When I use the same web.config and connection string, but run it locally in VS2008 (but keeping the connection string pointing at the live DB server), I can log in without an error using the same username and password on the live website.
I?ve checked that the users are in the DB, my unsuccessful logins are being recorded in the DB, yet I cannot log in. I cannot even retrieve my password as it says user not found, even though I can see the user in the aspnet_users table
Is there anything I can check to find out whats going wrong with the login process?
