Webservice to list all cities in USA

Hi
My requirement is something like this. I have a cascading dropdownlist for US states. When I click on a particular state it should populate another dropdownlist with all the cities in that state. I came to know that this can be accomplished with a webservice. I have never worked on this concept.So any ideas how can I accomplish this requirement
