I have a panel that I use to display little help messages to the user when the user clicks a little help icon button next to a field.  When that happens the server side code knows which field's help text to display so it loads that into a div within the panel, makes the panel visible, and moves the panel to a location near where the particular help icon that was clicked is located.  This all works in IE7 but in IE8 the panel still becomes visible, and displays the right text but it no longer appears near the help icon.  Instead it appears in the upper left corner of the form.  During runtime in the debugger the values for Left/Top of the panel are being set but the browser is not moving the panel to that location.  Why and what can I do about it?
The css class HelpPanel reference is simply position:fixed; and z-index:10000;.
