Having trouble with "Search profiles" in my asp.net site

Hey everybody,


I'm trying to code a dating site, and I'm having trouble coding up the "search".  In my search I have got several DropDownLists 
e.g Hair Colour has all the options: brown, blonde, dark brown , dark blonde, black, any (which are all options)


I am then retrieving the selected checkboxes using code very similar to: http://www.syncfusion.com/FAQ/aspnet/web_c20c.aspx#q256q
I don't want to store the selected checkboxes in a string, as it doesn't make much sense. What's the best way to store these boolean values (for the chosen checkboxes) ? (An array? do vectors exist in c sharp?)
If anybody has got a link to a sample/tutorial of a  "user/profile search"  of a website, could please share it ?
