Hi,

on my server, there's a socket server application listening on port 8080, while my application runs on port 80. I got to make a request via Sys.Net.WebRequest to localhost:8080, but of course the browsers will deny the request because of security reasons. So I need to do some kind of URL rewriting on localhost:80, to redirect the client to the port localhost:8080.

I tried to use Context.RewritePath within the Global.asax, but with this method I can redirect to pages on the same webserver only, I cannot redirect to another URL as the method expects a virtual path. Response.Redirect also didn't solve the problem.
So what can I do on serverside to redirect to my socket application?
