The ValidateUser method of the ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider seems to always return a False. I can't see anything am missing and so am totally stumped with it.
One of the gotchas in this is forgetting to set the attributeMapUsername, and to use a username instead of the userPrincipalName. However I have tried loging in with UPN's and it returns false, then tried attributeMapUsername ="sAMAccountName" and used a username and that also returns a false.
I am using a normal account, as the connectionName as our Network guys here are paranoic about giving an admin account. However they assure me that a normal account will be able to validate users.
