Dropdownlist with more than one datavalues.

 Hi,
 
      I have a dropdownlist which is binded to objectdatasource and set its datavalue field and datatext field respectively.So far so good.
      Now i have a new condition where i need to change the attribute of the listitems in the dropdownlist by checking a condition.For which i strongly feel could be done through the _DataBound event of the dropdownlist.Here is where i am feeling the issue.
      I wanted an extra value for each list items  (value already in the database) , the value for the condition checking.So that while iterating through the list items i can set the attributes conditionally.
      Please help me, if there is any additional thing i could do with the dropdownlist to  keep an additional value from the database.
