Understanding Events for a User Control

While trying to debug a Repeater that I have on a User Control, I added statements throughout the code to track when the assorted events were firing and to grab a couple of variables. The output is listed below. I don't understand why some of the events fired before the Page_Load() event.
Since I'm dealing with a User Control is there another event that fires before the Page_Load event of the Repeater?
Since the User Control sits on a parent page, are the events of the Repeater being called as the result of one of the events on the parent?
There are several Update Panels invovled a couple of ModalPopupExtenders.
