I am following instructions in a book to connect to the Northwind database on SQL Server Express, but I am receiving an error message. The process is to open the command prompt, then type:
  -S.SQLExpress -E
Then:
create login [computer name\login] from Windows
Then:
  Go
This should create a login for my user account  to create the Northwind Database; however at this point the command line is returning an error message:
   Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Server [ComputerName]\SQLEXPRESS, Line 1
   Incorrect Syntax near '\'.
The book suggests the only cause of this is getting the computer name or login wrong, but I've double-checked these and am pretty sure I've got them right - can anyone suggest another possible reason for why this error is occurring?
