proper way to handle database with asp.net application

Hi,

i am very new in asp.net.please suggest me what should i do here?

my problem is how can i handles database in asp.net.in my application i need insert,update or delete record to database and fetch record from database.so in my every page i copy the same code and save and retrive data from database.suppose i need to insert my record in database so i write a procedure

sub savedata()

connection

code to insert

end sub

so i copy the same procedure and paste the every form for insert with some minor changing and fetch data from database like  the same way.so it is very tedious work and solwer one.

is there any way how i can i handle the database in easyly?

is it possible to write code in a class and use it in every page just pass parameter ?

or how to make a DLL and use itfor database transaction?

or any other way to handle database with faster.

please help me.it is very urgent f ...
