Tried this post on 'Web Forms" forum - did not get any responses...
I recently installed my apps on a new development workstation and later realized that it doesn't have IIS installed. I installed IIS, then ran aspnet_regiis.exe to restore mappings. My apps appear to be working under IIS now except for one problem: it is denied access to registry (I have impersonated user credentials encrypted in registry). The error that I get is "Error reading configuration information from the registry". If I switch my app to run under Visual Studio Development Server instead of IIS, I get those registry settings accessed and decrypted without any problem. I checked all permissions for corresponding registry keys and I think I gave access to right users including Network Services.
Any help with this will be appreciated
