Dropdownlist[] problem

 ? want create dropdownlist collection but  cant create like this
 DropDownList[] ddllist=new DropDownList[]; its giving error but when i write a number like this
 DropDownList[] ddllist=new DropDownList[10]; its working.But i dont know my list size 
What can i do ??
