How can i remove Brackets from a string in order to make it a path? - using vb.net

for example i have this string:

"class_hello_world.func_hello_world()"

i want to remove the " sign from the string.

i want to be able to take the path and to put it in a dataSource of a control, for example:

dropDownList1.dataSource=class_hello_world.func_hello_world()

because if it's a string it will not work:

dropDownList1.dataSource="class_hello_world.func_hello_world()"   <= this way it's not working using vb.net
