ASP Page Methods Fire Twice

I've seen a few postings on this, but none of them have solved my problem.
Basically, most of my event handlers are firing twice, and I can't figure out why.
I'm using VB.  My event handlers use the handles syntax, such as...
Protected Sub MyButton_Click(ByVal sender as Object, ByVal e as EventArgs) Handles MyButton.Click 'Do something End Sub
I'm NOT also attaching the handler in the markup, as in...
<asp:Button runat="Server" ID="MyButton" onClick = "MyButton_Click" /> Again I'm not doing this.
And I have AutoEventWireup = false in the markup.
