Line breaks getting messed up in body of email

This may not be a .NET question per se. I'm created text for a System.Net.Mail.MailMessage that I'm sending out.

// Declared outside of Page_Load
private string br = "\r\n";

string body = "";

// First name, last name, phone, extension, and email are text boxes
// Organization is a picklist

body = "First Name: " + txtFirstName.Text + br
        + "Last Name: " + txtLastName.Text + br
        + "Organization: " + lstOrganization.SelectedValue + br
        + "Primary Phone Number: " + txtPrimaryPhone.Text + br
        + "Primary Phone Extension: " + txtPrimaryPhoneExtension.Text + br
        + "Email: " + txtEmailText;

The problem is the line break only ...
