I created a new ASP.Net web application with only a button control on the page. When the button is clicked, I make the app sleep for several minutes, but the page seems to time out after 90 seconds with a "Internet Explorer cannot display the page" message. I am using VS2010, IE8, ASP.Net Development Server, and Windows 7.
How do I prevent the page from timing out (or whatever it is doing) if the operation lasts longer than 90 sec? The operation could take 30 minutes or longer due to thousands of SQL inserts in the production application that really has this problem. I've tried setting the Server.ScriptTimeout & setting the <httpRuntime executeTimeout> settings to no avail. All of the other property settings are the defaults. This is the simplest example I could provide in order to recreate the issue.
Here is my code:
ASPX
<%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEve ...
