im looking to utilise the built in .net provider model for my registration on my site, and whilst understanding roles i dont see how or where these are assigned when a new user registers.
i expect only 2 scenarios, guest and member so can iassume when a user registers they are assigned to the member role automatically? what prevents a guest accessing pages i only want a member to see?
moving ahead, if i added more roles, how are these assigned on signup?what would make one user go into role1 and another role2 on signup? or am i misunderstanding roles?
