Help with RegEx Validator?

I have this validation on a ASP.Net Regular Expression validator:
ValidationExpression="^(([a-zA-Z]:)|(\\{2}\w+)\$?)(\\(\w[\w].*))+(.ppt)$" I need it to not trigger if the field is empty. Can anyone provide an update to the RegEx expression that will accept an empty field?
