i have a very simple example, but it fails, and i don't know why. i hope you have some good hints what the problem is.
this command gives me always a different value (executing in sql management studio query designer)
select ENCRYPTBYPASSPHRASE(N'subi', N'hello')
therefore the decryptbypassphrase is failed always.
what goes wrong?
