I have a web site using the standard forms authentication mechanisms.
The problem I have is that after ~30 minutes or so of idle activity, the user is then being redirected to the login page on their next request. ( I want them to stay logged in until the browser closes).
I am manually creating the forms authentication cookie using:
FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage( "username", false ); or
FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie( EmailAddress, false );
I can't figure out why the login is expiring after an idle time. When I check the cookie expiration time in the browser both the ASP.NET_SessionId cookie, and the .ASPXAUTH cookie are set to expire at the end of the session (meaning when the browser process shuts down).
So why is my login expiring?
