Set Authentication of HttpRequest to True

Hi, I'm having problems setting the HttpRequest object as

authenticated with each request. I'm using simple authentication, using

a custom login control with just 2 textboxs and a "log in" button.

Inside the code to authenticate, I'm authenticating the user as such:
