This may be a hilarious question for those who are more experienced. I'm simply trying to populate an label with a sql 05 table value (varchar). This field length is always 10 characters or less. For whatever reason, the execution returns "X" as my label's value. I have not put any error checking that would return an X value so it's got me at a loss. I figured the issue could be related to how I handled the data but I don't think so. It's just too simple.
right.Text = sqlRdr.GetString(18);
In theory, it's already a string being a varchar. But I did try "sqlRdr.GetString(3).ToString;" just to be certain. I just don't understand why it's returning an X. I'm hoping there is a redundancy check of some sort that causes this. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?
