I am playing with the AJAX web service recently to investigate the possibility of changing our existing legacy callback codes to using the AJAX framework. The main benefit I want to achieve is to be able to do multiiple callbacks asynchronously.
I wrote a sample page with two buttons, one to trigger a callback(Callback 1) to a web method which will take 1 seconds to complete, the other button will trigger a callback(Callback 2) to a web method which will take 20 seconds to complete. It works as expected so Callback 1 will always be able to finished before Callback 2 is finished, so I am feeling they are asynchronized.
However, as long as I set the EnableSession to true in the web method, Callback 1 won't finish until Callback 2 is complete. So it seems the server code is doing something synchronously.
Could anybody explain this for me please?
