This problem is making my head hurt. We have a web app using RTM asp.net ajax with some functionality provided by calling asmx web services in the app. Unfortunately in order to talk to the back-end, we need session. We are experiencing an issue where if the session is timed out, calls to the web services fail with a 500 error and returns the following:
{"Message":"There was an error processing the request.","StackTrace":"","ExceptionType":""}
What's most unusual about this behavior is that we have an httpmodule that should cause a redirect when the session has expired...but yet we get a 500 error, and even get json back! This leads me to believe that somehow, somewhere, asp.net ajax code is running even before it gets to the modules. Could it be when it creates the handler and determines that session has expired?
