I just wanted to be sure about something: If I have local (non-server) variables on an AJAX enabled web page then the values of these variables are lost everytime there's a partial postback. This is correct, yes?
What are the most common methods for storing the values of such variables, such that they're not lost?
In case it matters, in one case I maintain a variable to keep track of whether an ASP.Net Command button is set to "Expand All Nodes" or "Collapse All Nodes". In other situations I use such variables for other things. But the key is that they work strictly with Javascript code, not server-side code.
