Greetings,

I have a situation where I must concatenate a bunch of strings into one long string and be able to split the long string back into its original pieces.  The strings that are being concatenated originated as file names and user typed values, so the string data could contain anything that can be entered through a keyboard.  I've been using a delimiter of several unusual characters such as "~~" when I combine the user strings.  However, this is postponing the inevitable - eventually I'll encounter that combination in the user data and my approach will break.

What is your favorite technique for creating strings that can be deconstructed without error?  I was thinking of using an unusal character that can't be entered through the keyboard but I'm not sure how to do this.  I've got to be able to create the delimiter character in both JavaScript and c#.

Thanks for your help.
