Hi,

I have created a web service which does the following:

1. Hit a HTTP on a remote server with some request

2. Then the the remote server will response with a reply

3. Get the reply and return the value as an XML format

When calling the web service, the whole cycle (from calling until getting the reply) can take somewhere between 2 - 5 seconds.

Now I have an ASPX web application written in C# running on IIS 6.0 and .NET framework 1.1 that calls the web service, and my web application has a moderate amount of traffic (around 400 - 500 requests per hour).

I instantiated the web service in the Global.asax just to avoid it being instantiated multiple times (if I were to do it in the module within any class in the web application).

I add the web reference (called WS) and it contains a class named Class1

So in Global.asax, I have:

public static WS.Class1 wt = null;

protected voi ...

Go to the complete details ...
