clear special charecter between in two strings

 Hi,all
I am displaying brand and productname combination in   all app pages, like this
Brandname-Productname
i writen my code in master page page load event.
my code:
strLevel = Session("Brandname") & Session("productname")
            If strLevel <> String.Empty Then
           
                Me.lblLevelName.InnerText = strLevel
            End If
here , when ever session variables empty  i shuld clear special charecter  between in two strings,
