I have a question regarding encryption of data.
I am using the default Membership Provider model with standard login controls in my application. I want to use the PasswordRetrieval functionality. When I run my application everything appears to work. My password is emailed to me (albeit in a hashed form). Apparently, the functionality of this PasswordRetrieval component also changes my password before it is emailed to me since each time I run this tool the password looks different and the only way I can authenticate successfully on subsequent logins is my copying/pasting the password from the email sent to me and pasting into the login control. Often times this doesn't even work. Additionally, I am using the ASP.NET Configuration Management Tool to configure users, roles, and access rights.
