Page with 3 user controls is firing Page.Load event 4 times

No Master page is involved. 

AutoEventWireUp=False is set in the user controls as well as the page.

I also removed the background image on the body of the page.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what can be the causes  of this behavoir or how to fix it?
