Validating Date mm/dd/yyyy

hi all,

i'm have a textbox, input for that textbox is date, i want my users to enter the date in MM/DD/YYYY format, for that validation i'm using compare validator 'data type' property.

It's doing the job well, but additionally it accepts the YYYY/MM/DD.

How to avoid this, shall i use some other controls or some other property in the same control
