get direct reports of a logged user from active directory into a dropdown list

Hi,
How do I get the direct reports of a logged in USER into a drop down list. So far, I am only able to get the details of the logged user.
 I have come this far
  dsresult.Properties["directReports"][0].ToString();
but, this only lists the directReport into the textbox, unfiltered with the extra strings.
I think I have to capture this into an array and from there one filter out the strings and arrange it into the dropdown..but arghh..I am lost
...
