I am trying to implement a membership system in sql2005. I am using VS 2008. I have carefully done this over from scratch 3 times.
The db is separate from myapp. The db is generated using aspnet_regsql.exe and works fine.
I setup the provider, connection string and authentication scheme in the web.config.
I then add users with the VS2008 web configuration utility. The users add perfectly.
When I use the asp:login control, if I put in bad credentials it tells me they are bad and try again.
If I use good credentials I do not get this notice (line above this), so this tells me the login control is working against the correct DB and that the credentials are good!
But, the problem is that when I login with the correct credentials, I do not get redirected to the referring page and any membership methods I use to troubleshoot this all indicate that I am not logged in.!
