I'm sure I'm not the first person that has had this requirement, so hopefully there is someone out there that has gone down this path before.
My requirement is to save a given website address to a database. How would you handle people entering in http://www.asp.net, http://asp.net, www.asp.net or asp.net? When the person enters this information, they will be passing along some other data that will need to be linked to this web address; this is the reason I need to find out how to take the entered web address and see that it is the same as one previously entered, only slightly different.
Is there anyone out there that has had to deal with this before? Is so, I'd appreciate any insight or help.
