I just installed the express edition of SQL Server 2008 CTP (February 2008). Unfortuately, the database engine service will not start because it cannot find the resource database (mssqlsystemresource.mdf and mssqlsystemresource.ldf). The installer properly placed the resource database on my C: drive (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Binn). But the database engine is looking for the resource database on the E: drive (e:\sql10_main_t\sql\mkmastr\objfre\i386\mssqlsystemresource.mdf, a nonexistant path on my empty CD drive). How can I convince SQL server to look in the right folder for the resource database? Thanks, Alan
