Gridview inside Modal window not refreshing in IE, works fine with Firefox

I have a main page with  buttons Save, Edit and Delete. When I click the Edit or Delete button a modal window displays a list of records from database in a gridview.I put all the databse record fetching code in the Page_Load method of the aspx page that is attached to the modal window. When I select a record in the gridview which is inside modalwindow, that particular row data is returned to the main page and I do some processing(Edit or Delete) based on that data. If I delete the record and again open the modal window by clicking on Edit or Delete buttons, the previous deleted record is still there in the gridview., i.e the gridview is not refreshing.  When I add a new record on the main page and open the modal window some time later, I don't see the newly created records in the grid view.
