I am looking to rewrite an extensive pl/sql program that uses a large
oracle database. The program is entirely server side web based is run
(now) on unix servers in a round robin. I am familiar with .net and
coding and would like to use it to redo the system. I have had several
people suggest specifically Java, Coldfusion and Flex instead. However
I am not completely sold. My questions are as follows:
1. What
are the time delays with this kind of solution in general? For
example, if there are 100 users across the US including Alaska and
Hawaii, how is the performance?
2. How is performance on large queries against the database
3. How does it perform with a database in oracle?
4. How stable are the server updates? You hear the horror stories of how an update goes out and you lose your webpage.
