Display binary images

Hi,
  I am trying to display binary images in from the database in asp.net. I have an image control with imageurl="picture.aspx" . I am converting the byte() into system.drawing.image. I am using response.write to display the image and then I am disposing it.
       I wonder how to display the image as a thumbnail because the image is appearing  too huge. I also would like to know if I should have response.clear after the response.write. I am worried about the performance of my application.
